EMILY MULLINS AND K & J'S DEPUTY
The
following information was shared by Laura Mullins, about her daughter, Emily
Mullins:
Emily made her hackney pony debut on K & J's Deputy, a 10 year old 12.2 Hackney gelding in the
Walk-Trot 10 and Under Equitation and Pleasure Pony class in October, 1999. This is the 2nd time she has shown him under saddle.
Deputy was never shown under saddle before. Emily, who is 9, plans to make the year 2000
debut with him under saddle as well as showing him driving classes. She also has a 5-year-old road pony
whom she is planning to show in the juvenile divisions.
As for Emily and her pony. I did forget to mention that we live in Ada, Ohio, and K & J's
Deputy won Tri-State Champion in 1998 in the Driving Pleasure
Pony division. Emily has been showing for 2 years now. She started showing her
17-hand pinto Saddlebred in the Walk-Trot divisions at that time. At the age of 9,
Emily won Reserve Champion 10 and Under Walk- trot in the OASPHA.
Well, I do have to say that they perform as well as they look. Classes
with 18 and 20 in them and she won. We've only had Deputy since July
and Emily only rode him about 6 times, and this was only the second time
in the ring under saddle, so yup I'm pretty darn proud..."
~~~Laura, we are as impressed
with these two as you are proud!
What a future for child and pony, and what a future for the Hackney with teams
like this. ~~~
